While Utkarsh India Limited primarily focuses on the domestic market, we have also established a growing presence in international markets. In FY 2023-24, the majority of our revenue was driven by domestic operations, complemented by successful exports to markets such as Australia, Germany, France, Poland, and Reunion. This dual focus underscores our commitment to expanding our reach while maintaining a strong foundation in the domestic market.

Mr Sunil Bansal is the founder of Utkarsh India Limited (formerly known as Utkarsh Tubes & Pipes Limited). He is the Chairman and the Managing Director of the Company. His 25 years of experience in the industry have helped the Company grow rapidly, penetrating various product segments. His leadership has enabled the brand to emerge as one of the leading players in each product segment. Mr. Bansal was successful in building a structured organisation which has allowed the Company to deliver excellence in the areas of service and quality.

Having graduated with B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley, Utkarsh Bansal heads the Company's business strategy and is involved in increasing its global presence. He has been integral in evolving the Company from a traditional manufacturer into a modern manufacturer implementing JIT and lean manufacturing among others. He has completed his Masters in Business Administration from The Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He is constantly looking for new and innovative solutions and represents the ambition of our Company.

Shri Asish Chakraborty brings over 37 years of rich experience in the steel industry to his role as Director (Technical) at Utkarsh India. A B.Sc. (Engg.) graduate from the Regional Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, he has held key positions at Steel Authority of India (SAIL) from 1987 to 2024. During his tenure, he served in various capacities, including Production Shift In-Charge, Chief General Manager - Quality at Rourkela Steel Plant, and Head of Works at Alloy Steel Plant, Durgapur.
His dedication to quality and customer satisfaction has been recognized with the prestigious “Jawahar Award” from SAIL, acknowledging his innovative approach to meeting diverse supply conditions. At Utkarsh India, Shri Chakraborty’s technical expertise and leadership continue to drive the company’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

Shri Manoj Agarwal, a B.Com (H) graduate from the University of Calcutta, has been a vital part of Utkarsh India since 2003. With over 21 years of extensive experience in the commercial field, he plays a pivotal role in overseeing the Company’s commercial operations across its Jangalpur and Gurap plants, as well as its Registered Office.
Known for his strategic insight and operational expertise, Shri Agarwal is entrusted with managing and streamlining key commercial activities to ensure efficiency and growth. Shri Joginder Pal Dua, aged 72, is a distinguished professional with a degree in Law and a Master’s in Economics. With a remarkable career spanning decades, he has served the Oriental Bank of Commerce for 29 years, culminating as General Manager (Corporate Credit). He further held pivotal leadership roles as Executive Director and Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Bank for five years.
Shri Dua’s contributions extend beyond banking; he was appointed to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) and retired as Chairman in January 2016. He has been associated with esteemed institutions like XIMB, NIBM, and IIB&F, and has served as President of the Bankers Club Kolkata and Vice President of the Indian Banks Association.
Widely regarded as a stalwart in the banking industry, Shri Dua has been instrumental in advancing key functional areas such as credit, technology, brand enhancement, MSME growth, and financial inclusion. His vast expertise brings immense value to Utkarsh India’s strategic vision and operations.

Shri Sumantra Choudhury, aged 73, is a highly accomplished professional with a B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc., and a distinguished career as an IAS Officer of the 1974 batch (West Bengal Cadre). With over 43 years of extensive experience, he retired as Additional Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal, on 31st January 2011.
Throughout his illustrious career, Shri Choudhury has contributed significantly across diverse fields, including Urban Development, Urban Infrastructure, Transport (Urban and Rural), Agriculture, Public Health, Metro Rail, and Housing (Urban and Rural).
